Journalist Nozdrinov accuses law enforcers of trying to exert pressure

Alexander Nozdrinov, a journalist, has reported in a letter to his wife that at the temporary detention facility (known as IVS), he was not allowed to see his advocate and was searched. Nozdrinov is sure that in this way they wanted to put pressure on him, since he did not admit his guilt.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Alexander Nozdrinov, a journalist and a blogger from the Krasnodar Territory, was charged in a criminal case for disseminating fake news about the Russian Army. His relatives link his persecution with his civic position and declared that the court was biased, since the defence has provided proofs of Nozdrinov's innocence. On September 16, the state prosecutor demanded nine years in colony for Nozdrinov.

In his letter to his wife Ekaterina, Alexander said that on September 25, when the next court session takes place, he will not go to it, fearing for his safety.

After the previous court session on September 16, he wanted to see his advocate at the IVS, but they did not allow him to do this, and they began preparing Alexander for transfer to SIZO (pre-trial prison) No. 2 in the city of Armavir, where he is being held now. But instead of taking him away, he was taken to the investigation room, where there were 5-6 people dressed in civilian clothes. "When they took me into that room, I saw that the CCTV camera was blocked, after which they made various statements about me; they treated me negatively and with contempt. Then everyone simultaneously started rummaging through my personal belongings. As I understood it, they wanted to plant something forbidden into my personal belongings," Nozdrinov has written.

He has noted that strangers could only be allowed into the IVS with the court's sanction, but he doubts that the judge gave such a sanction. Alexander believes that in this way law enforcers want to put pressure on him, since he has refused to plead guilty in his case.
