Relatives of journalist Nozdrinov complain about court's bias

The court that considers the case of the Kuban (from the Krasnodar Territory) journalist, Alexander Nozdrinov, accused of discrediting Russian militaries, is biased. The judge refuses to coordinate the time of sessions; and the defence is forced to postpone sessions on other cases, Natalia Volivach, one of the advocates, has complained. Ekaterina Nozdrinova, Alexander's wife, has complained that she was not allowed to participate in the trial.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the prosecution of Nozdrinov has to do with his civic position, as his relatives believe. On May 4, it became known that Nozdrinov's defence presented proofs of his innocence to the court.

In Nozdrinov's case, two court sessions were practically disrupted, Natalia Volivach asserts, adding that the court has failed to meet halfway even in such a matter as scheduling court sessions.

The only form of pressure that the Nozdrinov family is subjected to is the court's pressure, Ekaterina Nozdrinova asserts.

"If earlier I was removed as my husband's public defender, now they would not allow me to attend sessions even as a listener. Journalists are also not allowed in, only advocates are," the wife has added.
