Local resident blows himself up in his yard in Chechen mountains

A resident of the Itum-Kalin District of Chechnya was wounded by an explosion of a grenade-launcher round. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told about it by a source from the Chechnya's MIA. The incident happened in the high-mountainous village of Tazbichi. The victim was hospitalized with plural fragmental wounds.

According to currently available information, one of local residents, when engaged in some work in the yard of his household, occasionally found a grenade launcher round dug in the ground. When the man tried to remove it, an explosion occurred.

This incident is already the second case of this sort in Chechnya in the second half of this month. On May 20, in Chervlyonnaya village located in the flat Shelkovskoy District a road worker suffered in the course of road works. Under the version of the investigation, a hand grenade blew up, which was planted by unknown persons into the road shoulder in immediate proximity from the railroad tracks.

In March this year, in total five persons suffered from explosions of land mines and other bombs in the territory of Chechnya; of them two were lost. Last year, 11 persons suffered from explosions.
