House arrest of suspect in Dalgatov's death case cancelled

The court has overturned the ruling to place one of the suspects in the case of the death of Kurban Dalgatov at the Makhachkala police station under house arrest. Another case figurant is left under house arrest.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 15, the Sovietsky District Court of Makhachkala placed two policemen detained within the case of Dalgatov's death under house arrest until March 11.

On January 12, the above two policemen were detained for failing to stop their colleagues' illegal actions against Dalgatov. The court took into account that one of them has dependent disabled parents, and the other had taken part in combat actions. On January 16, the court placed another policeman under house arrest.

Now, Muslim Kerimov, one of the suspects, had his house arrest cancelled, Shamil Khadulaev, a deputy head of the Dagestani Public Oversight Commission (POC), has reported in his Telegram channel, reminding that 11 persons figure in the case of Dalgatov's death.

Kurban Dalgatov died on January 20, 2023, after he was taken to a Makhachkala police station. His relatives claimed that he died of suffocation after he "received electric shocks to the heart area."
