Activists consider significant assistance to Palestinian refugees in Karachay-Cherkessia

Refugees from Palestine are provided with accommodation, food, their documents are being processed, and charitable organizations provide clothing upon request from those who arrived to the republic from the Gaza Strip, state activists from the organizations helping refugees. According to their reports, the Palestinian schoolchildren will be involved in education process after the New Year holidays, and all of them intend to study Russian.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that 40 refugees from Palestine, including 26 children, arrived in Karachay-Cherkessia on December 21.

So far, only one group of refugees has arrived in Karachay-Cherkessia, reports Inessa Biragova, the head of the temporary accommodation centre (TAC). Every refugee has a visa valid for three months.

Comfortable conditions have been created for refugees, as close as possible to those at home, and children will not be left without entertainment and gifts, Inessa Biragova emphasizes.

“The government of Karachay-Cherkessia is responsible for the reception and accommodation of refugees ... The Ministry of Labour has entered into an agreement with the ‘Territory of Mercy’ NGO, which regulates the flow of humanitarian aid from philanthropists, public movements, and organizations,” reported a spokesperson for the association of charitable organizations of the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR).

According to the activist, documents of the refugees from Palestine have now been taken for legalization process.

Akhmed is one of two refugees who speak Russian. His friend knows the language well, because he studied in Russia to become a doctor, but Akhmed still finds it very difficult to communicate. “I was learning Russian by myself in the Gaza Strip. We are happy with everything here. Our children began to smile and laugh,” the man said.
