Family of escaped Dagestani Zaira Pirova offers her to return home

Zaira Pirova, a native of Dagestan, who fled to Georgia, has contacted her relatives, but was unable to convince them that she had left home voluntarily. She said that she missed her family. The girl's father gave her two days to think about it and promised that if she returned, she would be "treated specially."

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Zaira Pirova had left for Georgia because they wanted to force her into marriage and was under her family's pressure; now, her relatives try to find her. The girl said that she was in danger in her family. In his turn, her father claims that Zaira had been abducted and is being kept under the threat to deal with her family. Zaira left home voluntarily, and was forced to leave Russia because of her relatives' attempts to find her, human rights defenders have objected.

Zaira Pirova has contacted her family, the SK SOS Crisis Group* has informed. According to Zaira's story, she asked her family not to look for her, but the girl was unable to convince her relatives that she had left voluntarily.

"We've discussed everything and clarified all the issues; and now I am thinking about this situation. I want to go home, because I miss them, but at the same time I am afraid that after my return nothing will change or even get worse," Zaira is quoted as saying.

In the Telegram channel of the SK SOS Crisis Group*, a user who introduced herself as Zaira's sister wrote that her parents let her go "to an unknown city, gave her an education and gave her the freedom to find a life partner herself."
