Resident of Stavropol Territory convicted of repeated discrediting Russian Army
A court in the Stavropol Territory has sentenced a local resident to nine months of probation, finding him guilty under a criminal article on repeated discrediting of Russian militaries.
On March 14, 2023, it became known that Sergey Shesterov was fined by 30,000 roubles for his comments made in a store regarding the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine.
The Izobilnensky District Court of the Stavropol Territory has sentenced him to nine months of suspended imprisonment and banned him from using the Internet for one year, the "OVD-Info" project* has reported.
The reason for the criminal case was in the post placed by Shesterov on the Internet; in court, he admitted his guilt and petitioned for the minimum punishment, since due to a stroke he could not pay the fine and fulfil the sentence in the form of compulsory works.
According to investigators, Sergey Shesterov, in the presence of store visitors and policemen, uttered out several phrases against the SMO in Ukraine and doubted Russia's successes there.
