In Tbilisi, students of seven universities demand to hold new parliamentary elections

In Tbilisi, students of seven higher education institutions hold protest actions with the demand to release the people arrested during protests against the suspension of Georgia’s European integration and to hold new parliamentary elections.

Students of public and private universities are demanding to release the people arrested for participating in the protest actions against the suspension of Georgia’s European integration, as well as to hold new parliamentary elections. The protest actions are taking place at the Conservatory, the Academy of Arts, the Ilia University, the Tbilisi State University, the Agrarian and Theatre Universities, as well as the University of Business and Technology, the “Pirveli” TV Company reported.

Let us remind you that on November 28, the European Parliament refused to recognize the results of the parliamentary elections in Georgia and called for sanctions against the leaders of the “Georgian Dream” Party. On the same day, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced that Georgia would refuse to negotiate on joining the European Union (EU) until the end of 2028. After that, protest actions began in the country.
