Total of 242 cases on unrests in Dagestan considered by courts

Overall, 104 people have been arrested; other 94 – fined under cases of riots at the Makhachkala Airport in Dagestan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that by November 25, Dagestani district courts had received administrative cases against 515 people, on whom protocols had been drawn up on their offenses committed during the anti-Semitic action and riots in Makhachkala, and on organizing mass presence of citizens in public places.

In connection with the unrests at the Makhachkala Airport, courts have considered 242 administrative cases, Zarema Mamaeva, the head of the press service of the Supreme Court (SC) of Dagestan, has stated. "104 offenders have been sentenced to arrest from 1 to 10 days; fines were imposed on 94 others; compulsory public labour was assigned to 42 persons; and proceedings were terminated against two persons," the "Interfax" quotes her as saying.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that in connection with the riots at the Makhachkala Airport, a criminal case for participation in mass riots is also being investigated, which provides for three to eight years in prison. 126 people are being held in custody within this case, Shamil Khadulaev, an activist, has reported.
