After riots in Makhachkala, 17 people appeal against their arrest

The Supreme Court (SC) of Dagestan has received complaints about the arrest of 17 rioters at the Makhachkala Airport; the SC has already considered nine of them and upheld the awarded freedom restriction measures.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 29, mass riots occurred at the Makhachkala Airport. They were triggered by reports about the arrival of a plane with passengers from Israel. By November 13, the courts of Dagestan had received 302 protocols under the article on violation of the procedure for holding actions; other 34 protocols are on other administrative articles.

The Dagestani SC is considering 17 complaints about rioters' arrests at the airport, the SC's press service has reported. "The Sovietsky District Court of Makhachkala has chosen the freedom restriction measure for all the figurants in the form of arrest for an average of one month and 25 days," the "Interfax" reports.

The SC has already considered nine complaints and in all of them refused to change the freedom restriction measure.

On November 9, Aza Alieva, an advocate, announced that she represented the interests of Patimat Sharudinova, who in the video from the airport was holding the Palestinian flag in her hands and chanting slogans; Sharudinova was placed under arrest.
