Forty accused in case on unrest in Makhachkala remain in custody

The Supreme Court of Dagestan received 44 complaints about the arrests of the persons accused in the case on riots at an airport in Makhachkala. Out of those 44, 40 complaints were dismissed. The policemen injured in the riots have been discharged from hospital, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reports.

Each of the accused persons was arrested for an average of one month and 25 days, the “Interfax” news agency reports.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that a criminal case is being under investigation in connection with the unrest in Makhachkala. By November 17, at least 27 people had been arrested in the above case and filed appeals against their arrests to the Supreme Court (SC) of Dagestan. The court approved arrest decisions on 17 complaints.

By November 18, the courts of Dagestan had received administrative cases against 412 people accused of offenses committed during the anti-Semitic rally and riots at the Makhachkala airport.
