Twenty-seven complaints against arrests after mass unrests in Makhachkala arrive in courts

At least 27 people have been arrested within a criminal case regarding mass riots in Makhachkala, who have appealed against their arrest in the Supreme Court (SC) of Dagestan. The SC has already upheld arrests on 17 complaints.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 29, mass riots occurred at the Makhachkala Airport provoked by reports of the arrival of a plane with passengers from Israel. By November 13, Dagestan courts had received 302 protocols drawn up under the article on violation of the procedure for holding rallies; other 34 protocols were on other administrative articles. According to Israfil Gadadov, an advocate, several young people are being prosecuted under criminal articles on mass riots; they have been arrested and refuse to plead guilty.

At least 27 people have appealed against their arrest under the article on mass riots (providing for three to eight years of freedom deprivation) at the Dagestani SC, the "Mediazona"* has reported.
