More than 200 people detained for participation in riots at Makhachkala airport

The riots at an airport in Makhachkala resulted in detention of 201 people for participation in them, and administrative protocols were drawn up against 155 of the detainees, reports the Chief Department for the North-Caucasian Federal District of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on November 3, Sergey Melikov, the leader of Dagestan, called on residents of the republic to collect material assistance for the Palestinians and pray for them. The leader of Dagestan also warned people against participating in any actions not sanctioned by the authorities.

On October 29, mass riots occurred at the Makhachkala airport due to the announcement of the arrival of a plane with passengers from Israel. As a result, more than 20 people were injured.

The MIA’s Chief Department for the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) reported on its Telegram channel that the police continue to identify those involved in the riots at the Makhachkala airport.

Eighty-two violators were prosecuted for failure to obey lawful requests of law enforcers, 107 citizens – for petty hooliganism, and 17 people – for violating the procedure for organizing and holding rallies.

The police detained 70 people, and 38 of them were sentenced to a 10-day arrest.

Let us remind you that the Chief Mufti of Tatarstan and the Dagestan imams called for leniency towards the participants in the riots.
