Krasnodar resident mobilized with hernias sent to hospital

Initially, during the examination, they tried to award Alexei Abramov, a mobilized resident of Krasnodar, who suffered from multiple spine hernias, the category "fit (for military service) with minor restrictions"; now, documents are being prepared for his hospitalization. However, as emphasized by his advocate, the military hospital cannot conduct all the examinations and treatment Alexei Abramov needs. During the partial mobilization, numerous cases of recruiting without medical examinations were recorded, human rights defenders assert.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after returning from the special military operation (SMO) zone, Alexei Abramov, who had been mobilized with spinal traumas, was sent to Dagestan to undergo a medical examination. Militaries have lost documents about his illnesses, Ksenia, Alexei’s wife, has explained. On January 9, it became known that Abramov was in Krasnodar, where he was waiting for examination by the military medical commission.

While in the SMO zone, Alexei Abramov, due to his serious disease of the spine bone, could not walk and wear a bulletproof vest, Ksenia Abramova said in November 2022.

Abramov's case was far from being the only one, said Sergey Krivenko, the director of the “Citizen. Army. Law”* human rights group.

There were quite a lot of such appeals during the partial mobilization, Alexander Latynin, a lawyer for the All-Russian public organization "Committee of Russian Soldiers' Mothers", has confirmed. “The military commissariats (registration and enlistment offices) suffered no sanctions for that; and when such recruits with illnesses, including mental ones, got into the SMO zone, nobody wanted to treat them, because hospitals are already overloaded. Courts usually sided with commissariats, claiming that during medical examination citizens have allegedly failed to declare their illnesses," Mr Latynin has explained.
