Number of flood victims in Kuban reaches seven
Six people perished and one suffered in the emergency zone in the Tuapse and Apsheron Districts, local authorities and emergency services have stated.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 25, the emergency services of the region reported two casualties and three injured persons as a result of heavy rains in the Krasnodar Territory (also called Kuban by the name of the main river); the fate of one person remained unknown. Rescuers evacuated 377 residents. In the city of Sochi, the Tuapse and Apsheron Districts, where an emergency situation was declared, houses of 5379 people were flooded, the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) has informed.
The death toll in the Kuban flooding zone has increased up to six, Sergey Kapustin, the Minister for Civil Defence and Emergencies of the Krasnodar Territory, has reported today. According to his story, the bodies of four casualties were found during a survey of houses in the Apsheron District, the TASS reports.
Two dead persons were found in the Tuapse District, the head of the local administration, Anatoly Rusin, told the TASS. According to his story, another person was injured.
