Law enforcers report on passport checks in Gudermes

Today, in the city of Gudermes, policemen were searching for persons from the wanted list, the spokesman of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Chechnya has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported, referring to the "Rosbalt" News Agency that 400 fighters began storming houses belonging to the Yamadaev family in Gudermes.

According to the above MIA source, this afternoon law enforcers "went to Gudermes to check operative information."

"Operative information was received that people, who were on the wanted list, were staying in that part of the city; law enforcers checked this information, the household, passports and left. They did nothing illegal," the TASS quotes the MIA spokesman as saying.

The "Novaya Gazeta" reports that Gudermes residents also failed to confirm the information that Yamadaevs' houses were assaulted.

The newspaper suggests that law enforcers "checked the information about the appearance of the wanted Isa Yamadaev in Gudermes. Isa is a brother of the assassinated Sulim and Ruslan Yamadaev and Ramzan Kadyrov's blood enemy."

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Yamadaev family is a Chechen clan, no less well-known than the Kadyrov family. Sulim Yamadaev, a former commander of the "Vostok" battalion, was killed in 2009, and Ruslan (Khalid) Yamadaev, a former State Duma MP, was killed in Moscow in 2008. Earlier, Isa and Badrudi Yamadaev had expressed their confidence that those crimes were supported by the authorities of Chechnya. Ramzan Kadyrov categorically denied his involvement in those crimes.
