In Kabardino-Balkaria, law enforcers reveal money raising for IS

On July 5, the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of Kabardino-Balkaria reported on a registered fact of organization of the fundraising and transfer of money to Turkey to finance militants from the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS), banned in Russia by the court, who were fighting in Syria.

According to the Kabardino-Balkarian Prosecutor's Office, 300,000 roubles were collected and transferred to the militants, the "Interfax-Yug" reports.

At a meeting of the interdepartmental working group to combat organized crime held at the Kabardino-Balkarian Prosecutor's Office, officials noted that because of the lack of systematic operational and investigative activities to curb the financing channels of criminal groups, there are no "objective materials to draw a conclusion about the real scope, mechanisms and sources of financial supply of militants, the "RIA" Kabardino-Balkaria "reported on July 5.

According to the material "Caucasians in the ranks of IS" published in the Section "Guide " on the "Caucasian Knot", militants from Russia are fighting in Syria and Iraq on the side of the "Islamic State", recognized in Russia as a terrorist organization and banned by court. Little-known information about the "Islamic State" and evidence of a person who used to be its member were represented by the "Caucasian Knot" in an interview "Travel to and from the 'Islamic State'".
