Indictment on the case of blowing up "Neva-Express" train approved

The investigation of criminal case concerning inhabitants of Ingushetia Maksharip Khidriev and Salambek Dzakhkiev, accused of blowing up the "Neva-Express" passenger train, is over. The indictment has been approved, and in the near future the criminal case will be sent to the Novgorod Regional Court for consideration on the merits.

"The investigation has established that Dzakhkiev and Khidriev bought explosive matter for a self-made bomb and brought it to the Malaya Vishera District. The organizer of this act of terror, who had undergone special training, made a bomb and placed it onto the railroad tracks," reports the Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office (ICPO) of Russia.

Dzakhkiev and Khidriev are presented charges of committing crimes envisioned by the articles "Act of terrorism", "Deliberate causing average-gravity harm to one's health" and "Illegal purchase, delivery and transportation of explosives by an organized group". Dzakhkiev is additionally accused of robbery, as the "Gazeta.Ru" writes.

The defendants' advocates assert that the case has plenty of "white spots." For example, the investigation failed to establish the owner of the "Zhiguli-6" model car, which was used by Khidriev; the car was also never found. As to Dzakhkiev, according to the "Vremya Novostei" newspaper, the investigation relies only on evidences of one of Khidriev brothers, as the "Interfax" reports.
