Body of person killed in Achkhoi-Martan placed in square in front of administration building
Telegram channels have published videos that allegedly show the body of a minor, lying on the ground. The minor was killed in Achkhoi-Martan in an attack on law enforcers. The body was brought to be shown to public sector employees forcibly gathered from the administration in the morning, sources claim.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on April 7, it became known about an unidentified person with a knife attacked the road-and-patrol police service (known as DPS) checkpoint in Achkhoi-Martan. The attacker was killed by “return fire.” The authorities’ attempt to identify a “Ukrainian trace” in the attack on the law enforcers in Achkhoi-Martan raises doubts, and the very incident gave Ramzan Kadyrov a pretext to intensify repression, analysts note.
Ramzan Kadyrov has announced that the attacker had come to the republic from Moscow for the holiday of Eid al-Fitr. Although the suspect lived in another region, it was decided to expel his relatives from Chechnya and confiscate their property. Threats were also made to distant relatives of the attacker.
The footage allegedly showing a morning rally in Achkhoi-Martan, where students, high-school pupils, and public sector employees were forcibly gathered and the body of the killed suspect was brought, was published by two Telegram channels opposed to the Chechen authorities. Women can be heard crying in the crowd, and one of them was wiping away her tears.
