Isa Yamadaev's relatives think he was not involved in Khaladov's disappearance

Isa, one of the brothers of Sulim Yamadaev, former commander of the "Vostok" special-purpose GRU battalion in Chechnya, could not be involved in disappearance of Alikhan Khaladov, a soldier of the battalion. This is the assertion of close relatives of Yamadaev brothers and one of former "Vostok" fighters.

The intrigue around the "Yamadaev case" continues to expand. In Moscow, an inspector from the Chechen Office of Public Prosecutor has interrogated two Yamadaev brothers - Isa and Musa. The former is regarded by Chechen authorities to be involved in disappearance in 2004 of Alikhan Khaladov, one of the battalion soldiers (then, under command of Sulim Yamadaev). However, Yamadaevs' relatives and friends find this accusation to be far-fetched and ungrounded.

"All these criminal cases against Isa, Musa and Badruddi were initiated by our local "organs" with the aim to toady Ramzan. All the Yamadaevs, including Dzhabrail, Khalid (Ruslan), Sulim, Isa, Musa and Badruddi, kept fighting, with arms in hand, against bandits and terrorists like those who are in Kadyrov's retinue today. They can't forgive us that," said a member of the Yamadaev family.

In relatives' opinion, Kadyrov's retinue would like to hush up the already international scandal related to the attempt on Sulim Yamadaev in Dubai, where Adam Delimkhanov, Ramzan's close relative and "right hand", was direct organizer, same as of the murder in Moscow of Yamadaev senior brother - Ruslan, deputy of Russian State Duma, who was shot dead last autumn in the centre of Moscow.

At the same time, one of former servicemen of the recently disbanded "Vostok" battalion has also confirmed that Isa Yamadaev had nothing to do with the incriminated crime. "Isa was a platoon commander in our battalion, but later he switched over to business. In summer of 2004, that is, in the period, when Khaladov disappeared, Isa was no longer in the battalion. Accusing him of anything based on doubtful evidences is a direct violation of the law."
