Inspectors are ready to interrogate Isa Yamadaev outside Chechnya

The Investigatory Department for Chechnya of the Russian ICPO has stated that they see no obstacles for interrogating Isa Yamadaev, brother of Sulim Yamadaev, former commander of the "Vostok" battalion, outside Chechnya, but Isa should have valid reasons for non-appearance under the summon.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Isa, brother of Sulim Yamadaev, who was attempted on in late March in the United Arab Emirates, stated earlier that he was near Moscow, ready to give evidences to inspectors in Moscow, but not in Chechnya. Earlier, he and his brother Musa had been announced into search with the aim of interrogation.

According to the spokesman of the Investigatory Department, "the criminal-remedial code envisages a possibility, should valid reasons be in place and should the inspector find them reasonable, of interrogating a witness in the place of his or her whereabouts," the "Gazeta.Ru" reports.

"No, I shan't go for interrogation to Chechnya. I'll just fail to get there - I'll get lost on the way, disappear, or something else will happen to me. It's quite obvious. But I am ready to give evidences to inspectors in Moscow," said Isa Yamadaev.

Earlier, the ICPO representative in Chechnya had stated that Yamadaev brothers - Isa and Musa should be found and brought for interrogation as witnesses on the case of disappearance of Alikhan Khaladov, a soldier from the "Vostok" battalion. In his turn, Isa Yamadaev said that he knew nothing about the fate of this person.

Still earlier, the MIA of Chechnya had reported that Isa Yamadaev was suspected of participation in kidnapping with the aim of extorting ransom, in particular, of his business partner Vitaly Bondarenko, a resident of Nalchik, and extortion of 88,000 US dollars from him.

In their turn, Yamadaev's relatives assert that Isa is not guilty. A representative of the Yamadaev family named the accusations put forward by law-enforcement bodies against Isa "ridiculous" and "unreasonable".

"It's clear that the MIA, which is entirely and completely under Ramzan Kadyrov and his team, made a deliberate noise on the occasion; they are afraid and wish to neutralize Isa. It's obvious. We have no doubts that it was all staged by Kadyrov and Delimkhanov," said a representative of the Yamadaev clan.
