Ter-Petrosyan: witnesses of election falsifications in Armenia are arrested

Many of the important witnesses of the mass falsifications undertaken during the election on February 19 are now under arrest, and it hampers to studying the case in the court. A source from among the Armenian opposition told the "Caucasian Knot" that today at the Constitutional Court this statement was made by the leader of the opposition Levon Ter-Petrosyan.

According to Ter-Petrosyan, should the Constitutional Court of Armenia pass any other decision, except for recognition of the outcomes of the presidential election null and void, the Constitutional court "would harm not only the reputation of the country, but seriously undermine its own reputation."

Mr Ter-Petrosyan has also reminded that according to Article 53.1 of the Electoral Code, his immunity is restored, since the suit filed by him is currently considered by the Constitutional court.

The same source from the opposition has informed in a telephone conversation that today oppositional activists are arrested everywhere, and the arrests have covered almost all the cities and regions of Armenia.
