Tarzan Kokoity: Georgian police plants drugs on captured Ossetians

Georgia continues capturing peaceful residents of South Ossetia by planting drugs and weapons on them. This was the comment of Tarzan Kokoity, Chairman of the Parliament of the RSO (Republic of South Ossetia), on detention by Georgian special agencies of Ossetian Dzhambolat Kokaev, accused by the Georgian party of keeping drugs.

We remind you that on November 17, special agencies of Georgia detained Dzhambolat Kokaev, a resident of South Ossetia, born in 1982, a shepherd of the Orchosan village of the Leningorskiy District of the Republic. The Georgian party is accusing him of keeping drugs.

"It will continue until the international community, represented by the OSCE and the European Union, reproaches Georgia of these roughest violations of human rights and forbids it to go on with this vicious practice," Mr Kokoity said.

"The South-Ossetian party denies the legality of Georgian police's actions and finds the capture of the shepherd to be just a criminal kidnapping," the "Caucasian Knot" own correspondent was informed at the United Press Centre of the RSO, motivating the conclusion by the fact that "the Orchosan village is located in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict zone, where all the police and militia operations entailing detention of citizens by law enforcement bodies should be conducted with notification of the opposite party and the MPKF (Mixed Peacekeeping Forces), however it was not done."
