Experts think that judicial reform in Georgia ended in a failure

In the opinion of the experts, the reforms of the judicial system of Georgia gave no expected result, and this is one of the recent heaviest failures of the authorities. It still remains one of the main objects of NATO's criticism and an obstacle to integration into this organization.

Georgian experts and politicians have expressed their opinions on the issue in their interviews to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

In the opinion of the lawyer Professor Otar Gamkrelidze, the court does not exist in Georgia: "What happens now in the judiciary cannot be treated as reforms; it is against the institution of the true court system. We've got an obedient court, which can be influenced by the executive power."

Kakha Kukava, one of the leaders of the Conservative Party, thinks that after the "Revolution of Roses" the judicial system was damaged: "After the 'Revolution of Roses' all the court chairs were dismissed. I understand that when a new President advents he makes cadre reshuffling. But these changes should not affect all the administrative and constitutional courts. Saakashvili has put his people everywhere."
