Book by the former Public Prosecutor of Georgia presented in Tbilisi

The book entitled "Law and Life," written by Giya Meparishvili, former General Public Prosecutor of Georgia and currently Professor of the Tbilisi Ivane Dzhavakhishvili State University and deputy of the Parliament of Georgia (fraction "Independent Majoritarians"), was presented on September 12 at the International Tbilisi Press Centre of the RIA "Novosti."

"The book by Meparishvili is a happy exception, since it touches on pretty many scrupulous and delicate items, for example, the criminogenic situation in our country, etc. He has proved to be bold enough to write about all this. His work is causing a great interest for its reliability and professionalism," Professor Tedo Ninidze said in his conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Mr Meparishvili, the author of the book "Law and Life" himself, has expressed an opinion, while being interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, that the Georgian society should think of the future and change its approaches to sciences.

He has also noted the absence of criticism in the sphere of the law, and not only of criticism, but also of the practice. The author has dealt with the problem of utilizing the scientific potential of the country.

The book by Giya Meparishvili "Law and Life" also deals with the problems of codification of the criminal-and-procedural law, legal reforms, problems of fighting the crime, judicial statistics, etc. It is in fact a collection of scientific and publicist articles of the author written during the latest decade.
