Salvador Dali's masterpieces on show in Rostov museum
An exhibition of original works of Salvador Dali is on at the Rostov local lore regional museum. This is a new project of Russian collector Alexander Shadrin from Ekaterinburg.
"These are not copies," Roman Mikhailov, exhibition curator, explained to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "Sculptures (in bronze) were cast from author's moulds, and in the art of lithography the first 20 prints with artist's corrections are considered to be originals." As he added, these corrections are clearly seen, for example, in lithographs of the series "Human Evils".
It is not the first project brought to the Don capital by Ekaterinburg collector Alexander Shadrin. In 2005, Rostov-on-Don residents could admire his project named "Graphic Arts Masterpieces of the 20th Century", which exhibited originals by Picasso, Chagall, Matisse and Kandinsky. Mr Shadrin professes the principle of "open collecting".
Rostov-on-Don is the 15th city, after cities of Siberia and Urals, hosting the exhibition "Salvador Dali's Masterpieces".
