Former advocate of ex-senator from Kalmykia Chakhmakhchyan applies against Russia to the European court

Boris Kuznetsov, former advocate of Levon Chakhmakhchyan, ex-senator from Kalmykia, who was convicted to nine years of deprivation of freedom, has filed a claim against Russia to Strasbourg to the European Court for Human Rights. Earlier Boris Kuznetsov has received political asylum in the United States.

"I've applied to the European Court asking to recognize my criminal prosecution as illegal and award moral compensation, since I was forced to close my advocate's office," said Mr Kuznetsov.

The RIA "Novosti" reports with reference to Boris Kuznetsov that his application was officially accepted by Strasbourg; his interests there will be represented by Karina Moskalenko and Anna Stavitskaya.

We remind you that the advocate started preparing his complaint to Strasbourg back in July 2007.
