Boris Ebzeyev approved president of Karachayevo-Cherkessia

The republic's parliament deputies have approved Boris Ebzeyev as a new president at the extraordinary session of Karachayevo-Cherkessia Public Assembly.

On August 4, Mustafa Batdyev, president of Karachayevo-Cherkessia, asked MPs to approve Boris Ebzeyev as the republic's leader  and promised to render assistance to the new leader. According to RIA "Novosti", Ebzeyev was approved unanimously.

ITAR-TASS reports that 66 deputies out of 73 were able to arrive due to summer holidays, however, the quorum for passing a decision was in place.

After the voting, Boris Ebzeyev, in the capacity of the KChR president, took the floor and answered journalists' questions. He stated that the new team would be formed in the government, discussions were under way on the issue of the Premier-President tandem and certain candidates had already been selected.

"I do not promise wonders, we are just going to work. Karachayevo-Cherkessia is going to remain an inalienable part of the Russian Federation and its reliable outpost at its southern borders " - concluded Boris Ebzeyev, as cited by the IA "Regnum".

Earlier Ebzeyev stated that he treated the republic's incumbent president with respect and expressed hope that he would be able to continue all his good initiatives.
