In Kislovodsk, head of Union of Pensioners fired out

In Kislovodsk, Gennady Popkov, leader of the city branch of the NGO named "The Union of Pensioners of Kislovodsk", was dismissed from his main work at the city hospital "for alleged absenteeism", as the victim himself told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to his version, on April 9 he went to Stavropol for his public needs. Since April 10 was his working day in the on duty schedule, Mr Popkov asked the head of the department to substitute him for another doctor, and it was done. Having come to work on his next scheduled day, he learnt that the nurse had submitted an official report, and the respective acts had been compiled.

"Actually, my dismissal was caused by my characterization of Kislovodsk Mayor Vitaly Biryukov that I made from the TV screen of the NTV Channel. He had hidden in the hospital, and I brought the TV group for the people to know where he was holing up. On April 22, Anatoly Bylim, Chief Physician of the Hospital demanded that I write an explanation on 'disclosing patient's secrecy.' Then, they found another pretext. They told me frankly: don't get where you shouldn't," Gennady Popkov explained.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has informed that it became known on April 18 that Mayor of Kislovodsk Vitaly Biryukov had been taken by an ambulance to the Kislovodsk city hospital. Before his hospitalization, on April 7, Sergey Dubrovin, head of the Investigatory Department of the Investigatory Committee at the Regional Prosecutor's Office, initiated a criminal case against Biryukov. The Mayor was incriminated excess of official powers accomplished with causing heavy consequences.
