In Azerbaijan, journalist Agyl Khalil is ready to testify to the investigation

Azerbaijani journalist Agyl Khalil, who earlier refused to give evidence on the motive that the case was falsified by the Prosecutor's Office, has reported his readiness to testify.

Azer Ahmedov, director of the "Azadlyg" newspaper, has informed the "Caucasian Knot"  correspondent that Agyl Khalil will evidence to the investigation when he arrives to Baku.

"However, Agyl Khalil is not in Baku now, and he will not be able to appear at the Prosecutor's Office in due time. In this connection, Deputy Jamil Gasanly, chair of the public committee in defence of Agyl Khalilov's rights, addressed the Investigatory Department of the State Office of Public Prosecutor and received their consent to be present at interrogation of the journalist. As soon as Agyl comes to Baku, he will go to the Prosecutor's Office together with Jamil Gasanly," Mr Ahmedov said.

Let us note here that the journalist had refused to testify by motivating his position with encroachment on his rights and falsification of the case by the Prosecutor's Office. At the same time, the journalist appealed to the public of the country asking to support him in this situation.
