Sergeant suspected of beating soldier detained in Krasnodar

In Krasnodar, a sergeant suspected of beating soldier Alexander Ivanov, was placed on March 18 into the temporary insulation facility. Within a week, the military court should pass a decision on his freedom restriction measure.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed about it by Yuri Redkin, head of the investigatory division under the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation for the Krasnodar Garrison.

We remind you that the criminal case was initiated against a sergeant of one of the military units in Krasnodar under Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Excess of powers"). According to the investigation, the sergeant had beaten soldier Alexander Ivanov, 18, who therefore had his spleen amputated. The victim's mother had applied to the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Krasnodar Garrison on the incident. To sergeant may get up to ten years of imprisonment. The suffered soldier is at the Krasnodar first-aid hospital.

Let us add here that in 2007 about two thousand militaries were brought to criminal liability for this sort of non-manual relations. Now, the Chief Military Prosecutor's Office remarks a downward trend in the number of such crimes.
