Supreme Court of the Russian Federation refuses to close the "Ingushetia.Ru" website

The "Echo Moskvy" Radio has reported that the Russian Supreme Court has rejected the suit on closing the "Ingushetia.Ru" website, accused by the Prosecutor's Office of Ingushetia of publishing materials directed at excitation of national hatred and enmity in the society.

Later, Magomet Evloev, a lawyer and the owner of the "Ingushetia.Ru", told in his interview to the "Izbrannoye" (Selected) website that he had found the rejection of the suit reasonable.

"The decision of the Court is quite natural, otherwise I'd be surprised. This suit against "Ingushetia.Ru" is absolutely absurd, same as the demand to close the website. It is the sole truth-speaking resource in the region," Mr Evloev said.

According to the owner, the website is not registered in the territory of Russia and is not an electronic mass medium, although the Prosecutor's Office treats it as such in its documents. Magomet Evloev thinks that the Office is commanded by the authorities of Ingushetia.
