"Voice of Beslan" thinks Prosecutor's Office of North Ossetia was initiator of criminal cases against the Committee

The "Voice of Beslan" All-Russian Organization believes that the initiative to initiate criminal cases against the Committee belongs to the Prosecutor's Office of North Ossetia. This week, the members of the Committee expect to meet Herman Shtadler, Republic's Public Prosecutor.

Ella Kesaeva, co-chair of the Committee, finds the actions now undertaken against the organization and Beslan victims to be a consequence of the independent investigation of the Beslan tragedy.

"Our advocates have advised us to write applications listing the facts of pressure exerted on the organization. We are already preparing these applications and plan quite soon to send them to the European Court," the leader of the organization continued.

The victims have also expressed their indignation with the actions of Batagov, Public Prosecutor of the Provoberezhny District. In their opinion, his work was not duly estimated.

"He worked in this position before the terror act, and is still there. Was the prosecutor's office guilty of nothing? He tries to forge cases against the victims, it's all comes from impunity. Sad as it can be..." the leader of the Committee said with a grief.

According to Ms Kesaeva, they want to take recognizance not to leave from the members of the "Voice of Beslan".

"The materials of the case contain neither examinations no evidences of any beatings or bruises. Why then are we indicted of Article 318 ("Violence against the power")? The judge too has already said that nobody was beating him, so why don't they stop the case? <...> They want to trial us only because they have applications in the case files. When a court session takes place in relation to the victims, there's always a strengthened guard in the courtroom, three marshals are around each of us," she said with indignation.
