The Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Dagestan has approved the indictment on the criminal case in relation to Nukh Nukhov, former candidate to the position of the head of the administration of the Dakhadaev District. The case was sent to the court.

According to the information received by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent at the Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan, Nukh Nukhov is accused of illegal purchase, storage, transportation and bearing firearms, and of inflicting harm to the health of another person.

The investigation has established that on March 2, 2007, a conflict burst out between candidates for deputies of the regional assembly of the Dakhadaev District; the conflict grew into a fight, and then into a skirmish.

Under the version of the investigation, during the incident Nukh Nukhov, acting willingly with the aim of causing harm to the health of his opponent, made a shot from "Makarov" pistol at the leg of the latter, causing him a gunshot gutter wound of the right-hand lower leg.

Mr Nukhov's supporters held, after his detention, a meeting in the central square of Makhachkala with a demand of his immediate release, finding his arrest to be a political order.
