In September 2024, two persons perished in armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

In September 2024, three victims were recorded during the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus: two suspected militants were killed and one law enforcer was wounded in Ingushetia. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.

On September 30, law enforcers detained eight residents of Ingushetia who, according to the FSB (Russian Federal Security Service), were preparing acts of sabotage at energy facilities and attacks on law enforcers. Seven suspects were detained in Magas and Nazran, the eighth one rendered armed resistance and was shot dead.

On September 3, a man with a screwdriver attacked traffic policemen at the road-and-patrol post (DPS) located at the entrance to the city of Magas (the capital of Ingushetia). One policeman was wounded, the attacker was killed, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has reported.

In the remaining regions of Northern Caucasus, which include Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia-Alania, Stavropol Territory and Chechnya, no armed incidents or casualties were recorded in September 2024.

The above statistics cannot present the number of victims with 100-percent accuracy. Not all the data get into news tapes. It is not always possible to verify the accuracy of the statements made by law enforcement bodies; and new data on the events of the reporting period sometimes become known after the publication of statistics by the "Caucasian Knot".

Earlier, in August 2024, no victims were recorded.
