Dagestani activist Rabadanov left in custody

The Supreme Court (SC) of Dagestan has refused to soften the freedom restraint measure for Ramazan Rabadanov and left him behind bars.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that residents of Dagestan were outraged by the detention of Rabadanov, who spoke out in defence of the figurants in the case of riots at the Makhachkala Airport. His son from the special military operation (SMO) zone in Ukraine recorded an appeal to President Putin asking him to look into what happened. Rabadanov was arrested for two months.

According to Rabadanov, some people came up to him and planted a grenade into his jacket.

His advocates appealed against his arrest asking to appoint a freedom restraint measure for their client that does not involve isolation from the society. However, the Dagestani SC has upheld the custody, the "Youth of Dagestan" outlet has informed.

Recently, Rabadanov was known for his human rights initiatives. In particular, he was involved in organizing legal and informational assistance to the defendants in the "airport case"; he helped in fundraising for advocates and intended to cover the trials, the "Chernovik" outlet has reported.

Let us remind you that 27 criminal cases on the riots in Makhachkala against 129 defendants have been sent to the courts of the Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories.
