Suleimanova's girlfriend demands inquiry into law enforcers' actions

Law enforcers detained Seda Suleimanova in Saint Petersburg and allowed her to be sent to Chechnya despite the girl's words about the threat of repressions there, Lena Patyaeva, a Seda's friend, has stated and demanded from the Investigating Committee of Russian Federation (ICRF) to open a criminal case.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that this April it became known that the ICRF was investigating Suleimanova's disappearance under the murder article. In June, Lena Patyaeva said that three months after the case was opened, investigators failed to come to any conclusions, while the inquiry was sabotaged. Seda's friends and human rights defenders fear that she has become a victim of an "honour killing."

Lena Patyaeva asked to initiate a criminal case against law enforcers in connection with the alleged abuse of office, the SK SOS Crisis Group* human rights organization reports in its Telegram channel.

According to Lena's story, she wrote an application against law enforcers because Seda was detained, despite the fact that she "was screaming and hysterical, stating that they would kill her at home."

"But nevertheless, they detained her, not allowing her to meet an advocate and immediately took her to Chechnya," Lena Patyaeva is quoted as saying.
