Kremlin comments on Kadyrov’s statement about blood feud against relatives of militants

The official Kremlin has no doubt about Ramzan Kadyrov’s statements concerning tough methods of fighting militants and those who support them, announces Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov. Earlier, the leader of Chechnya has stated that the entire clan (family) of a militant should bear responsibility for an attack on public officers.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that after the militants’ attack in Dagestan, the leader of Chechnya called for killing all blood relatives of the criminal.

“[Ramzan Kadyrov] was talking about those who condone terrorism, who are one way or another, directly or indirectly involved in terrorist activities,” the “RIA Novosti” news agency quoted Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov as explaining.

Let us remind you that on December 30, 2023, Ramzan Kadyrov stated that relatives of those suspected of extremism are responsible for their actions.

The authorities of Chechnya have long used intimidation of families in the fight against opponents, but Ramzan Kadyrov’s recent order to kill relatives of those suspected of crimes can lead to real murders that will not be restrained by the practice of blood feud, human rights defenders note.
