Kadyrov voices threats to relatives of extremist suspects

Relatives of people suspected of extremism are responsible for their actions. That has been announced by Ramzan Kadyrov. The authorities of Chechnya will get rid of their critics wherever they are, the Chechen leader notes.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that relatives of Ramzan Kadyrov’s critics were repeatedly subjected to pressure from the republic’s authorities. So, in December 2021, Ramzan Kadyrov’s critics complained about mass kidnappings of their relatives in Chechnya and Astrakhan.

According to the Ramzan Kadyrov’s statement, “it is necessary to keep special control over the issues of countering extremist and terrorist propaganda.”

“We constantly see how websites of social media administered from abroad are encouraging young people to commit serious crimes ... Close relatives should know what a member of their family is doing and take responsibility for him or her,” the leader of Chechnya wrote.

“Let everyone who does not agree with our vision leave the republic. We have forgiven many and released those detained. We will have no mercy for anyone who calls for organizing any illegal actions in Chechnya. No matter what state he stays in, we will send a request for extradition of a terrorist,” stated Ramzan Kadyrov as quoted by the “Kavkaz.Realii”*.
