Relatives of Dagestani military man to obtain compensation for his death in Ukraine
In the Kizlyar District, a court obliged the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and the Ministry of Finance to pay 500,000 roubles to each of six relatives of Khalid Kurbanov, killed in the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine, in compensation for moral damage.
In their lawsuit, the plaintiffs claimed that payments to family members of a military man killed in the special military operation are “only the state-guaranteed amount of compensation for harm and do not limit compensation for the mentioned harm by other payments.”
“The plaintiffs experienced deep moral suffering associated with the loss of their relative,” the text of the document claims.
The authors of the claim requested the court to award each family member, including four adults and two minors, the compensation of 5 million roubles.
“Plaintiff M.R. Kurbanov explained that his son helped him in everything. The father hoped that his son would return from the army and help him with the housework, since his health was already poor. But after the death of his son, the father’s health state has become even worse,” the court reported.
The court considered the plaintiffs’ requests to recover from the defendant 5 million roubles for each plaintiff as overstated.
