Daudov nominated for the post of Chechen PM

Magomed Daudov has been presented for the post of Prime Minister (PM) of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov has announced.

"He will take this post after being approved by the Chechen Parliament. With account of his extensive experience and high professionalism, I am sure that the MPs will fully support his candidacy," the head of Chechnya has written in his Telegram channel.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Muslim Khuchiev, the former PM, resigned due to a transfer to another job. Ramzan Kadyrov announced that Khuchiev had been appointed assistant to the Russian PM. On May 15, a few days before the announcement of Khuchiev's resignation from his post in Chechnya, it became known about the resignation of Magomed Daudov, the Chairman (Speaker) of the Chechen Parliament. The resignations of Daudov and Khuchiev showed that Chechen authorities are freer in personnel matters than other Russian regions, analysts believe. Daudov's resignation did not spoil his relationship with Kadyrov, a source from the "Vayfond" Association believes.

Svetlana Gannushkina* believes that the resignations of two high-ranking Chechen officials may be related to Kadyrov's fears that the Kremlin is searching for his successor.
