Muslim Khuchiev Chechen PM's resignation brings promotion to Kadyrov's son

Akhmat Kadyrov, Ramzan Kadyrov's eldest son, has headed the Ministry for Physical Culture and Sports, the head of Chechnya has announced. The post of the Minister for Youth Affairs, which was earlier headed by Akhmat, was given to Ramzan Kadyrov's son-in-law, Ramzan Vismuradov.

Muslim Khuchiev, the Prime Minister (PM) of Chechnya, has resigned due to a transfer to another job, and Isa Tumkhadjiev became the acting head of government, Ramzan Kadyrov has informed. This is the second resignation of a high-ranking Chechen official in less than a week: on May 15, it became known about the resignation of Magomed Daudov, the Chairman (Speaker) of the Chechen Parliament.

After Khuchiev's resignation, Kadyrov has announced cadre reshuffling in Chechen government.

"Akhmat Kadyrov has been appointed to the post of the Minister of Chechnya for Physical Culture and Sports. Isa Ibragimov, who earlier held this post, has been transferred to the post of Deputy Head of the Administration of the Head and Government of the Chechen Republic. The Ministry of the Chechen Republic for Youth Affairs will be headed by Ramzan Vismuradov, while Temirlan Khuchiev has been nominated to the post of the Minister of Industry and Energy of the Chechen Republic ", Ramzan Kadyrov has written.

Ramzan Vismuradov is a son of Abuzaid Vismuradov, a Ramzan Kadyrov's childhood friend, who is Deputy Chairman of the Government in charge of the security bloc. Ramzan Vismuradov is married to Tabarik, a daughter of the head of Chechnya, the SK SOS Crisis Group* project has reported.

On April 28, Kadyrov announced the appointment of his son Adam as curator of the Russian Special Forces University. On November 5, 2023, it became known that Adam Kadyrov, shortly before his 16th birthday, was appointed the head of the security division of the head of the republic. This appointment is contrary to the labour legislation and emphasizes the hereditary principle of the formation of power in Chechnya, experts have pointed out.
