In Moscow, Nikolai Rybakov, the chairman of the "Yabloko" Party, and members of this party's Moscow branch came out for a commemorative action. They laid flowers at an impromptu memorial at the "Belye Palaty" (White Chambers) Centre in Prechistenka Street in Moscow, the party has reported in its website.

In Saint Petersburg, a commemoration was held in the Field of Mars Square, where activists laid flowers, the "Mr-7.ru" outlet has reported.

Let us remind you that Stanislav Markelov and Anastasia Baburova were shot dead on January 19, 2009 in Moscow after a press conference dedicated to the release from prison of former Colonel, Yuri Budanov, who had served his term on charges of murdering the Chechen girl, Elza Kungaeva.
