Kuban resident suspected of repeatedly discrediting Russian Army

Law enforcers began investigating a criminal case initiated against Gennady Vladimirov, a resident of the town of Primorsko-Akhtarsk in the Krasnodar Territory (also known as Kuban by the name of the main river), under four articles of the Criminal Code, including repeated discrediting of the Russian Army.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in August 2022, the court found that the video filmed by Gennady Vladimirov was discrediting the Russian Army and fined him by 40,000 roubles.

A criminal case has been opened against Gennady Vladimirov for repeated discrediting the Russian Army, as well as calls for terrorism on the Internet, extremism and anti-state activities, the human rights project "OVD-Info"* has informed.

Vladimirov has noted that law enforcers refused to give him documents related to the criminal case; therefore, it is unknown what exactly had caused his criminal prosecution. Now, he is under recognizance not to leave the place.
