Refugees from Palestine report their needs to Dagestani officials

Residents of Palestine who arrived in Dagestan asked to be provided with cellular communications and the Internet, as well as to draw up necessary documents. Some of them intend to obtain Russian citizenship. All refugees are accommodated at a recreation centre not far from Makhachkala.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that three groups of Palestinians arrived in Dagestan. Forced migrants from Palestine will be granted refugee status.

On November 21, the authorities of Dagestan announced that they were ready to accept up to 200 refugees from Palestine.

“The newly arrived people did not require hospitalization. All children will be provided with psychological assistance,” announced Marina Ezhova, Commissioner for Children’s Rights in Dagestan.

Assistance will also be provided to refugees from Palestine who arrived in Dagestan, in particular, to families with many children, reports the “Insan” Foundation. “Eset Kosumova has five children, she managed to leave the Gaza Strip. Her Palestinian husband works as a doctor and has decided not to leave the homeland during such a difficult time for it,” said an activist of the “Insan” Foundation.

Let us remind you that Muslims in Northern Caucasus, including in Dagestan, reacted sharply to the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. On October 19, the Dagestani “Insan” Foundation announced a fundraiser for the Palestinians. On November 3, Sergey Melikov, the leader of Dagestan, announced that residents of the republic had raised more than 90 million roubles for the Palestinians.
