Resident of the Volgograd Region demands payment from MoD for his wound received in Chechnya

For three years, a disabled person from the Chechen war from the Volgograd region has been seeking insurance payments from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) for his wound and disability. The claimant, who is partially paralyzed, needs money for treatment, Nikolai Renskov, a deputy, has explained.

The Tsentralny District Court of Volgograd has been considering for three years the lawsuit lodged by a native of the Novoanninsky District against the Russian MoD.

The claimant served in the airborne troops and received the Order of Courage during the Chechen War. During the fight he was seriously wounded and became disabled. Problems began with the insurance and other payments due to him by the law.

The military commissariat (registration and enlistment office) told the claimant that he was demobilized not due to his military wound, but due to the end of his term of service. Knowing that he was disabled, they failed to provide him with documents for the insurance amount.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in October, Khizri Kurazov, a serviceman of the "Rosgvardiya" (Russian National Guard) from North Ossetia, could not achieve compensation for his wound. According to his story, he received his wound in the barracks, but it led to serious health damage.
