Stavropol court refuses to consider law suit about mobilization of a large family father

The claim lodged by Shakir Ragimov to cancel the decision to mobilize him was not considered by the Kirovsky District Court of the Stavropol Territory. The Territorial Court has upheld the decision.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that residents of Southern Russia had repeatedly stated that, in their opinion, the mobilization of the men who have serious health problems or who have a reservation from mobilization was unlawful. On October 28, 2022, the Russian Defence Minister reported on the completion of the mobilization, but this was not followed by a respective presidential decree.

Ragimov was mobilized on September 23 last year; since then he and his wife Mekhriban Ragimova have been trying to challenge this decision; however, their applications are returned without consideration. The last time the court referred to the fact that the mobilized person is a military serviceman and is under the jurisdiction of the garrison military court, and not the district one, the "Kavkaz.Realii"* project reports.

In his claim, Ragimov referred to the fact that he has three children under the age of 16, and that the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces had asked not to call up fathers of large families.
