College principal in Makhachkala reprimanded for fashion show

After a scandalous fashion show, the Dagestani Ministry of Culture has taken action against the leadership of the Dagestani Arts School.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 25, a video was posted, in which students of the Arts School presented a fashion show. Some models walked the runway in images reminiscent of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. In social network, some commentators demanded to fire the school bosses for insulting believers' feelings. The school administration has explained that the theatrical costume in the student's diploma work had nothing to do with religious symbols.

On June 26, a meeting was held at the Dagestani Ministry of Culture with representatives of the Dagestani Arts School, the clergy and the sports community, as a result of which the school principal was reprimanded, the "Kommersant" reports.

The press service of the Ministry of Culture has informed that other conclusions were drawn from the show, in particular, "the requirements for the submission of graduation works were changed."

Residents of Dagestan have earlier criticized participants in fashion shows. Thus, they demanded an apology from the participants of the extraordinary show at the opening of the store on October 19, 2022. Commentators in social networks then pointed out that such events violate the foundations of the Dagestani society.
