Court sides with activist Irina Grigorieva in search case

A Krasnodar court has found the actions of the policemen, who conducted a search at the home of activist Irina Grigorieva, to be illegal.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 10, 2022, Grigorieva filed a complaint against the court ruling, which sent her for a psychiatric examination. Knarik Arutyunyan, an advocate, has treated the incident as "punitive psychiatry." Grigorieva herself has stated that she was abused for her human rights activities in the international public movement "Public control of law and order".

In late 2021, Grigorieva was placed in a psychiatric hospital in Krasnodar for almost a month for a forced examination. According to her story, her problems began after being accused of slandering a judge. On September 7, 2022, the court again sent Grigorieva for a psychiatric examination, the reason for which was a criminal case of insulting a judge.

"I wrote a complaint about policemen's actions … the court took my side, but my mother could not be a witness, because she died on January 24," said Irina Grigorieva.
