Akhmed Zakaev's associates report about kidnapping of his relatives in Chechnya

Chechen law enforcers took away two nephews of Akhmed Zakaev, who lives in the United Kingdom, to some unknown place, his supporters have reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Akhmed Zakaev, who lives in the UK, has repeatedly reported pressure on his relatives living in Chechnya. In 2021 and 2022, his brother Ali Zakaev, who lives in Urus-Martan, was forced to record video messages criticizing him; other Akhmed's relatives were detained with searches of information in their phones. In September 2022, Ramzan Kadyrov publicly offered his fellow countrymen living abroad to kill Akhmed Zakaev in exchange for returning to Chechnya.

Akhmed Zakaev was a special representative of Aslan Maskhadov in the West (in 2001), Prime Minister of the self-proclaimed Chechen Republic of Ichkeria (in 2007-2009). He was put on the international wanted list on charges of terrorism and received political asylum in the UK.

Law enforcers took away Bislan and Hussein Zakaev, the sons of Akhmed's brother Ali, from home, the Telegram channel "Akhmed Zakaev's Press Service" has informed.

"Relatives are trying to find out where they are now, but nobody tells anything to them," the "Kavkaz.Realii"* project has quoted a local resident as saying.
